During the November 16, 2005 Tiger Cub den meeting, the boys got into the true spirit of Thanksgiving by working together on a service project. The den baked loaves of pumpkin bread and decorated grocery bags, all of which will be used as part of Thanksgiving Care Packages distributed by Trocaire, the St. Patrick's Parish community outreach program. Not only did the boys have fun -- they took pride in the fact that through teamwork they were able to help others who are less fortunate.

In October 2005 the Tiger Cubs of Pack 178 embarked on their first field trip as a den: a visit to the Whaling Museum in Cold Spring Harbor. The boys experienced a look back in time to the whaling days on historical Long Island. The adventure included a tour of the museum, a scavenger hunt, an informative talk about whales from the Museum Staff and a movie about life for a little boy in colonial times. The outing was educational... and lots of fun for everyone!
